Mix Fun And Fitness At The Saint Croix Fat Cat Triathlon

Whether you love paddling, biking, running, or all three, the Saint Croix Fat Cat Triathlon invites you to pursue fitness your way this Saturday.

At Summit, our commitment to health is focused on our patients and our Twin Cities community. You will find our physicians and healthcare specialists providing medical support at neighborhood runs and regional marathons, information at health-centered seminars, and care for athletes in high school, college, and professional sports teams.

On Saturday, July 11th, Summit is proud to partner with the Scandia-Marine Lions Club to support a health-conscious lifestyle by sponsoring the Saint Croix Fat Cat Triathlon. Preparing for a triathlon delivers the benefits of cross training by combining the athletic activities of paddling, running, and biking. Training in multiple sports engages a wider range of muscles and joints, with less risk of overloading a single area of the body.

If you have embraced the benefits of cross training, you’ll have a great opportunity to don a race day t-shirt and put your fitness progress to the test on this beautiful triathlon course that begins on the Saint Croix River in Scandia and ends at the Scandia-Marine Lions Park. Of course, if your exercise program has been focused on only one of the triathlon sports, you have the option to gather a rely team of three participants, and divide the three legs of the race between you.

Organizers understand that fitness and fun go together; this well-managed event is packed with festivities. On the evening before the race, you are invited to a complimentary pasta dinner designed to provide the energy you need on race day. When you cross the finish line to the cheers of onlookers, you’ll be greeted with live music, a fried Fat Cat catfish basket and beverages to enjoy as you celebrate with friends and family.

In addition to enjoying fun and fitness, you can be proud that the race proceeds will fund the community causes supported by the Scandia-Marine Lions Foundation.

This event is a great way to stay fit, have fun, and enjoy the pristine beauty of Minnesota’s parks and waterways. To join us for the race, go to http://stcroixfatcat.com/
