Summit Is Finalist For 2015 Leaders In Health Care Awards

Our state is distinguished as the home of nationally and internationally recognized health care leaders. Each year, Minnesota Business magazine invites nominations of individuals and companies that support and accelerate our health care industry through business growth in the medical field, corporate philanthropy, and health care innovation.

This year, approximately 200 nominations were submitted in 13 categories ranging from medical device innovations and community outreach to health care champions and researchers. The nominations are reviewed and narrowed to the top five in each category, and then submitted to an external judging panel of health care experts representing a cross section of industry expertise. This panel selects three finalists in each category.

This week, Summit was honored to learn that our Vadnais Heights Surgery Center (VHSC) has been selected as a finalist for the Interior Design/Architecture Project Award. Inspired by the vision of Dr. Peter Daly and nursing director Beckie Hines, the VHSC was designed to provide a uniquely comprehensive quality of surgical care to our patients while improving the patient experience and outcomes—at a lower cost. We are proud of the unparalleled patient care our facility provides. The Summit Orthopedics’ facility, including the surgery center, is a one-stop destination for physician consultations, diagnostics, surgery, care suites, physical therapy, and bracing and orthotic needs. With luxurious private recovery suites, Secure Tracks therapy, and the surgical center located on one floor, access to care and services could not be more convenient for patients and their families.

Since the VHSC opened, we have conducted facility tours to interested health care providers from around the country who are interested in replicating the model in their respective markets. We are honored that our center has earned a “2014 Award of Excellence” from the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), a place on the Minnesota Physician magazine “Honor Roll,” and a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal “Best In Real Estate” award.

We are proud to have developed an innovative surgery center where superb quality of care is synonymous with patient attention, convenience, and reduced cost. We look forward to attending the 2015 Leaders In Health Care Awards gala on October 29, where the winner among each set of finalists will be announced.
