I’m Brennan Boettcher and I’m a sports medicine non-operative physician here at Summit Orthopedics. I always had an interest in the sciences and as I went through high school and college, I realized that medicine would be a good fit. I went to the University of Wisconsin at Madison for my undergraduate education and I ran track and field there. I had a couple of sports injuries that led me down the track of wanting to be a sports medicine physician. I like to approach seeing patients from a whole patient perspective. It’s really hard to just focus in on one thing for a patient and think that you’re really going to make a big difference. You really have to take a step back and figure out how an injury or a pain is affecting their life, their work, their recreation and try to address all of those thing together. The other things that I think maybe are a little bit unique about my practice is, I’ve spent a lot of time training in diagnostic and intervential ultrasound. So, a lot of the skills that I have to offer are different than most sports medicine physicians in the area. I spend most of my free time with my family. My wife and I really enjoy running, so we have been doing a lot of that and racing through the States. Spend a lot of time with my two kids. I have a almost 4-year-old little girl and a almost one-year-old little boy and so we’re pretty busy and active chasing them around as well. The reason I come to work every day is I enjoy getting people back to the things they love, whether it’s walking, running, climbing mountains, playing recreational or competitive sports. Those are the things that make me feel very satisfied, when I can get someone from not being able to do something they want to back to their activity.
