This Summit Orthopedics position is subject to the requirements outlined by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services  (CMS) and is required to report Monthly COVID vaccination numbers for employees who work in  Summit’s Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Employees who have received any COVID vaccination should provide documentation prior to their start date. Any COVID vaccination received after their start date, please provide documentation to your manager.

**Providers (PA/NP) –that will work in non-Summit locations will need to be fully vaccinated, which means at least two weeks post final vaccine, or have been granted an approved medical or religious exemption prior to start date.**

The PA – Hospitalist practices medicine independently with minimal physician supervision.  Within physician–physician assistant relationship, PA-Cs exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Focuses on patient flow, appropriate lengths of stay, care coordination, patient admission and discharge processes and adherence to care protocols and pathways.  May include responsibility for assisting physician in surgery, education, research, and administrative services.

This role is a full time opportunity that will be mainly seeing patients at Abbot Northwestern and United Hospitals, with occasional coverage at North Memorial and Maple Grove Hospital. Position will be based in Plymouth; must be willing to float to all Summit sites as needed.

Dynamic Physician Assistant opportunity to work in various roles in orthopedics with multiple different orthopedic specialties. PA’s first duty would be seeing hospital post-ops and consults primarily at various metro hospital locations. Providing orthopedic continuity for patients in the hospital setting and working with various orthopedic teams. Once hospital care is complete, the Hospitalist will see patients in the clinical setting in our Orthopedic Urgent Care clinic alongside other PA’s. Surgical training and assisting in cases are a part of the role where/as needed.
