What is happening?
Summit Orthopedics will be adding five physicians and 25 staff members to the Summit family, as of January 1, 2017. The physicians and staff have previously been part of the Mankato Orthopaedic & Fracture Clinic (OFC) group based in Mankato and are currently providing services in Northfield, Faribault, Farmington and Lakeville.
Both Summit and the physicians joining Summit share a dedication to high quality and conservative approach to patient care. Our goal is to enhance orthopedic healthcare services for patients residing in these communities.
If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact us at 651-968-5200.
What physicians will be joining Summit?
Physicians Drs. Hans Bengtson, Clint Muench, Bob Shepley, Eric Stroemer, and Brad Wille, as well as the teams that support them, will be joining the Summit family.
Will I have to change clinic locations or providers?
We intend for all physicians listed above will continue to see their patients at Northfield, Faribault, Farmington and Lakeville. The transition of care to Summit should be seamless for patients who rely on these physicians for care.
Will my health insurance be affected?
Summit Orthopedics will not be making any changes to accepted insurances. For detailed coverage information for your specific plan, we encourage you to reach out to your health insurance carrier directly.
What are some additional benefits?
Summit Orthopedics will also seek to support Northfield Hospitals & Clinics so that it remains a vibrant and independent healthcare facility. We believe that together, we could provide expanded services and offerings to the community, beyond what is possible as individual healthcare organizations. At Summit, we see the value of providing access to specialized care at the local level.
Patients also will be able to access Summit’s new Eagan facility, which will provide an outpatient ambulatory surgery center, as well as extended access to more advanced surgical procedures. The new facility will open in Spring 2017.
