Can you treat my injury?
Some 99% of musculoskeletal injuries are appropriate for visits to OrthoQUICK. But there are certain instances when the emergency room or urgent care provides a better choice, and we want you to be educated about what those are so you can make the right decision for care.

|Recent muscle, bone, or joint injury|
|Pain or swelling in a joint|
|Knee sprain or strain|
|Hand, wrist, elbow or shoulder injury|
|Ankle sprain or strain|
|Broken bone without an open wound over the fracture location|
|Recent back pain|
|Chronic neck or back pain, or narcotic medication refills||Schedule appointment or contact your Summit specialist|
|Work-related injury||Walk-in to Minnesota Occupational Health during business hours, or OrthoQUICK after hours and weekends|
|Broken bone where bone has broken through the skin or there is a wound over the fracture|
|Deformity (change in shape or severe angle) of ankle, knee, elbow or shoulder|
|Concussion or head injury|
|Severe pain requiring IV administration or sedation|
When to go to Urgent Care or a non-orthopedic specialist:
- Injuries to the eye
- Cold, flu, respiratory and stomach issues
- Medical conditions that are not related to bones, joints, muscles, and their supporting structures
