Personal Training

Summit Orthopedic offers one-on-one training for those individuals looking to exercise in an individualized setting. Personal training can benefit anyone, from an individual who has no experience strength training, to an elite athlete looking to improve their performance. To begin the personal training experience, you will start with a wellness consult with one of our performance specialists. During this time, you will work together to identify health and wellbeing goals you would like to achieve, and determine the best course of action. Your performance specialist will work with you and take into account your lifestyle and any injuries you may have before creating your exercise program.

Each 60 minute training session will begin with a general warm-up, such as walking on the treadmill, just to get muscles loosened up. You will follow that with a dynamic warm-up, which will focus on movements that work through the range of motion required during the training session. A proper warm-up is necessary to activate muscles and reduce risk of injury during the training session. After the warm-up, you will begin strength training, which will last about 45 minutes. This will vary person to person depending on their goals, but you can expect to begin the strength training portion by working the larger muscle groups, and focusing on the smaller muscle groups later in the session. Core strength and stability exercises will always be incorporated as well. A light cool down will take place during the last few minutes of the session to help bring your body back to homeostasis at an appropriate pace. Your performance specialist will emphasize proper form and technique in order to optimize performance and reduce risk of injury.
