University of Northwestern

Partnering with University of Northwestern to provide preventative care and on-the-field medical support to student athletes.

Whether it’s Friday night at an Eagles football game or regular visits to the campus training room, Summit sports medicine expert Jeffrey Furmanek, D.O., has been supporting the student athletes of the University of Northwestern St. Paul since 2011. Dr. Furmanek has worked in partnership with the university’s 3 athletic trainers to keep athletes healthy, prevent injury, and get injured players back to the activities they are so passionate about.

“I work on the athletic staff at the University of Northwestern. I suffered a sports related injury that needed extra attention. The staff at Summit Orthopedics handled the situation in a superior manner. Following my surgery I have not felt any pain at all. I count that as a bonus and it is due to the work of the team at Summit. When your injury occurs it is Summit Orthopedics that will make the difference in your recovery.”
