Under the direction of the Director of Ancillary Services, the Medical Imaging Manager provides leadership and general administrative oversight for Summit’s Medical Imaging program, services and operations. The position manages performance of the program staff at various sites in alignment with established strategies and goals, delivery of quality imaging services to providers and Imaging patients, and continuous progression toward Summit’s vision.

Manage the day-to-day Imaging services and site operations to include employee staffing and supervisory duties, including interviewing and hiring employees; appraising performance; rewarding and recognition of employees; addressing issues, concerns and resolving problems; and ensuring the completion of required paperwork, records, documents, timesheets, etc.

Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly or indirectly supervise the staff of assigned sites to ensure the highest level of imaging services is consistently delivered

Directs the orientation, training and on-going development of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the service’s standards for quality, quantity, and safety.

Regularly assess clinical and operational workflows to achieve standardization and recommends applicable imaging policies and procedures to achieve compliance. Collaborates with team members and other leaders to achieve organizational goals and objectives

Ensure that all patient concerns arising from the assigned service locations and team members are addressed in an effective, compassionate and timely manner.

Manage the Imaging budget preparation and analysis of financial information, comparing actual performance to budgeted performance, and overseeing and/or approving expenses. Prepare and analyze reports regarding operations as well as the status of goals, objectives and utilization of services.

Complies with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements by staying current with existing and new legislation and advises management on needed actions. Monitor compliance with quality assurance, MDH, ACR, HIPAA and OSHA guidelines and make necessary changes, as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Required: Basic Life Support

Education

  • Preferred: Bachelors in Radiologic Technology

Experience

  • Preferred: Registered Radiology Technologist certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences or other related healthcare field and/or MRI certification highly preferred
  • Required: Must have 5-8 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, with at least 3 of the years in a supervisory or lead position. Prefer previous experience in an Orthopedics service
