Under the supervision of a physician, the Occupational Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) conducts a wide variety of evaluation and examination duties for the employees of client companies, including injury and illness assessment and pre-placement and fitness-for-duty examinations.  The Occupational Medicine Advanced Practice Provider also participates in the development and maintenance of educational and preventive programs related to occupational health.

This is a full-time opportunity primary based at the Blaine - MN Occupational Health Campus.  Training will occur at the St. Paul/Midway MOH Campus.  Flexibility to travel to other MOH/Summit locations as needed.  

  • Performs and oversees episodic care for employees of client companies.
  • Assists with the development and oversight of on-site employer services.
  • Conducts fitness-for-duty and pre-placement physical examinations.
  • Deals in the prevention of work-related injuries, illnesses and disabilities.
  • Re-examines disability cases periodically to verify progress.
  • Advises regarding community health and health-related policy issues such as benefits and product safety values.
  • Provides professional expertise to the occupational health program to include development and review of medical standards, policies & procedures, scope, direction and planning.
  • Participates in activities that are intended to maintain and increase market share companies as clients, including regular client relationship-building site visits.
  • Works within legal scope of practice and consults with physicians on patient care as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

  • Required: Masters in Physician Assistant
  • Required: Masters in Nurse Practitioner


  • Required: Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program Certification by the NCCPA or AANPCB Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Minnesota.
