The PA - Hospitalist practices medicine independently with minimal physician supervision.  Within physician–physician assistant relationship, PA-Cs exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Focuses on patient flow, appropriate lengths of stay, care coordination, patient admission and discharge processes and adherence to care protocols and pathways.  May include responsibility for assisting physician in surgery, education, research, and administrative services.

This role is a full time opportunity that will be mainly seeing patients at the United Hospital and North Memorial Hospital. Position will be based in Plymouth; must be willing to float to all Summit sites as needed.

Dynamic Physician Assistant opportunity to work in various roles in orthopedics with multiple different orthopedic specialties. PA’s first duty would be seeing hospital post-ops and consults primarily at West Metro hospital locations. Providing orthopedic continuity for patients in the hospital setting and working with various orthopedic teams. Once hospital care is complete, the Hospitalist will see patients in the clinical setting in our OrthoQuick clinic alongside other PA’s. Surgical training and assisting in cases are a part of the role where/as needed.

Education

  • Required: Masters in Physician Assistant

Experience

  • Required: Certification by the NCCPA, licensure or eligible for licensing as a PA in the state of Minnesota
  • Preferred: One year of experience as a PA preferred, Prior orthopedic experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Sup
  • Required: Basic Life Support
