The RN Infection Coordinator is responsible for preventing infection and maintaining a safe environment in the surgery centers. The RN Infection Coordinator reviews, analyzes and trends all occurrence reports for the surgery centers. Monitors infection control programs for the surgery center. Maintains in-depth knowledge and assists in the review and revision of policies and procedures to maintain compliance with Federal and State ASC rules and regulations. Monitors sterilization/disinfection processes to minimize risk of infections.

The RN Infection Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing a program to maintain and oversee the Environment of Care (EOC) program and Life Safety compliance within the surgery centers. The RN Infection coordinator will direct and support the surgery center site safety representative, conduct, coordinate and oversee the surgery centers safety committee.

 

This role is for a full time opportunity with scheduled day hours of Monday – Friday. Base location is TBD but will be required to travel between the other Ambulatory Surgery Center locations as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor, analyze, and maintain the infection control program by tracking infections as well as oversight of the sterilization /disinfecting processes within the ASC.
  2. Is responsible for reviewing occurrence reports, evaluation of occurrences, providing feedback on prevention.
  3. Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, CMS and local rules, regulations, and laws that pertain to the daily operation of the centers.
  4. Assist with the development of policies and procedures to comply with State and federal directives, laws, and professional standards.
  5. Assist the Chief Operating Officer and Director to obtain and maintain state licensure and accreditation.
  6. Maintaining a facility-wide occurrence reporting system to identify actual and potential error(s) in process.
  7. Maintains outcome data for disease specific certifications.
  8. The Infection/Quality Coordinator will oversee the recall program within the ASC.
  9. Conducts, coordinates, assists in the quarterly meetings of the Infection committee, maintains and files meeting minutes in infection binder
  10. Collaborates with administrative staff on special projects and other assignments
