The Business Development Manager plays a key role in advancing the strategic growth of Summit Orthopedics and MN Occupational Health (MOH). This position is responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand our footprint across the Twin Cities area and into new markets, both regionally and beyond. Working closely with physicians, operational leaders, and the Director, the Business Development Manager develops and executes strategic plans to support service line growth, increase market share, and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders.
This is a full-time position based at our Corporate Office located in Woodbury, MN. Monday – Friday schedule of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Must be flexible to float to all Summit/MOH locations as needed.
Primary duties:
- Develop and execute long-term and short-term growth strategies for Summit Orthopedics and MN Occupational Health, with a focus on expanding both direct patient access and occupational health services.
- Conduct in-depth market research, including referral trends and competitive analysis, to identify high potential markets and service opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with referring physicians, health systems, clinics, employer groups, and insurance partners to drive patient volume and service utilization.
- Oversee acquisition of new occupational health clients, including proposal development, contract negotiation, onboarding, and ongoing service oversight in collaboration with the operations team.
- Supervise the outreach efforts, representing Summit and MOH with athletic organizations, employers, and other community partners.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators to refine strategies and ensure alignment with growth goals for Summit and MOH.
- Partner with internal teams to coordinate communications, support new location launches, and integrate new referral sources and market entries.
- Actively engage with current and prospective clients and partners through site visits and consistent outreach, reinforcing brand presence and trust in orthopedic and occupational health services.
- Provide leadership and complete supervisory duties for assigned staff. Interview, hire, and onboard new employees; Conduct performance reviews, engage coach and address performance issues; address complaints and resolution of problems; and ensure the completion of required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget process and helps monitor and approve budget expenditures throughout the year.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Summit’s hiring range for this position is $81,203 to $101,504 per year. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
