The Patient Financial Services Coordinator (PFSC) is responsible for verifying patients’ eligibility and benefits, obtaining authorization and /or referrals for patient encounters/procedures from their insurance company or referring provider; gathering current out-of-pocket and deductible information, securing patient responsibility prior to services and managing charity care and/or discount requests.

 

 This is a full time role and it will be based at our Corporate Office in Woodbury, MN.  Full-time, day hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Required training is in office with the ability to work from home once fully trained.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

  1. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to a diverse group of employees, using both verbal and written communication skills.

  2. Individual should be strong in abilities to multi-task, problem solve, prioritize and organize and process large volumes of requests and have high attention to detail.

  3. Highly motivated individual who can work autonomously and as part of a team.

  4. Must be confidential in all business-related matters and be knowledgeable in HIPAA regulations. 

  5. Proficient in the use of modern office software and equipment with accurate keyboarding skills.

  6. Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all confidentiality requirements related to assigned healthcare business activities and management of patient records, including but not limited to compliance and HIPAA regulations.

  7. Must be knowledgeable of and comply with all safety requirements and practices related to assigned responsibilities
