Common Questions – MRI
What if I am claustrophobic?
An open MRI machine helps relieve anxiety if you are uncomfortable in enclosed spaces. An open MRI means you will not be placed in a tunnel or tube and allows more space to relax. However, if you anticipate that a high level of anxiety might otherwise prevent you from remaining still while undergoing your MRI, please ask your physician to prescribe a sedative for you to take just prior to your exam. This is a common request.
