Bone Marrow Aspiration
Regenerative medicine seeks to decrease pain and improve function by using your body’s own natural cellular mechanisms to accelerate healing, reduce pain and inflammation, and potentially regenerate tissue. Summit Orthopedics offers these treatments in the form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) injections. BMAC contains adult stem cells.
In Part 1, interventional spine specialist Steven Stulc, D.O., discusses the process leading up to the retrieval of bone marrow for use in a BMAC injection.
In Part 2, interventional spine specialist Steven Stulc, D.O., walks through a live procedure and demonstrates how bone marrow is retrieved from the patient’s hip bone for use in a BMAC injection.
