About
Expert Care for Foot and Ankle
Foot and ankle surgery is a fascinating specialty because it continues to evolve as new processes and techniques are developed. The foot and ankle have very complex anatomy, with many bones, joints, and tissues all working together — and something can go wrong anywhere. From chronic injuries or arthritis in older adults to traumatic injuries, sports injuries, and problems people were born with, there is a huge variety of problems with which I am able to help patients of all ages.
I am proud to have dedicated my orthopedic surgery practice to focusing exclusively on foot and ankle. I’m invested in my patients’ success, and I want them to do well.
Dr. Michael Anderson’s Patient Care Philosophy
My priority, as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle, is to be thoughtful in my approach and recommendations. There are often several ways to treat a given problem with a good outcome, and my job is to help my patients weigh the risks and benefits of each possibility and decide on the right approach for their specific circumstances, including minimally invasive surgical options when appropriate.
Every patient is different, with their own goals, expectations, and challenges. In a lot of foot and ankle scenarios, there is more than one way to address a problem. I enjoy working with the patient and listening to them to figure out which way is going to be best, keeping an open mind throughout that process. I will look under every stone to try to find a solution. I care about my patients, I want them to do well, and I want to work with them to help them get there.
Dr. Michael Anderson’s Outside Interests
My wife and I have five young kids, so most of my day-to-day life is focused on being a doctor and being a husband and dad. Spending time with my children brings me a lot of joy, and it’s a delight to watch them grow.
We spend a lot of time skiing as a family. Some of my favorite moments are being outside with my kids, traveling to the mountains or up to a lake, or riding our bikes together. I look forward to being able to travel farther afield once they’re older. I also enjoy gardening, doing projects around the house, and working in my yard.
