Retired in 2025
Dr. Peter Daly retired from active practice in 2025 after a distinguished career in orthopedic surgery, specializing in knee, shoulder, hip, sports medicine, arthritis, and joint preservation. Known for his patient-centered philosophy — “I understand the concern of athletes to get back to their sport. And I work in combination with our therapists to get them fully active.” — Dr. Daly combined medical expertise with personal empathy. Recognized with the Dr. Thomas A. Dooley Award for his global volunteer service and frequently named a Top Doctor by Mpls./St.Paul Magazine, he also served as Team Physician for Concordia University and as Summit’s Medical Director of Surgical Services. His profile remains here in honor of his lasting contributions to patients, colleagues, and the community.
About
Legacy of Care
“I understand the concern of athletes wanting to return to their sport, and I’ve always worked closely with our therapists to help them become fully active again.”
Now retired, Dr. Peter Daly is an orthopedic surgeon who specialized in knee, shoulder, hip, sports medicine, arthritis, and joint preservation and restoration throughout the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area. Because shoulder arthritis prompted him to adjust his own activities, he brings personal perspective as well as medical expertise to patients facing similar challenges.
Dr. Daly’s dedication to community health extends far beyond his immediate surroundings. He was recently recognized with the Dr. Thomas A. Dooley Award by his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame, for his volunteer medical service with One World Surgery in Honduras and his global commitment to improving access to surgical care for the poor.
Dr. Daly was a frequent recipient of the Top Doctor designation in Mpls./St.Paul Magazine. He serves as Team Physician for Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. Dr. Daly also served as Summit Orthopedics Medical Director of Surgical Services for many years, as a member of the board, and is a long-standing leader in the practice.
