About
Personalized Care to Keep You Moving
To me, no matter their age, everyone is an athlete in some way. As a nonoperative sports medicine specialist, I see both acute and chronic injuries, as well as arthritis, especially in the knee, hip, foot and ankle, or shoulder.
I’m really fortunate that my patients are people who are motivated to get better. They want to figure out what they can do to get themselves healthy and moving once again, and I’m really happy to help with that. I work with my patients to develop a treatment plan using different approaches and tools to maximize their physical abilities at any stage of life. That might include medications, injections, physical therapy, and activity modification.
Dr. Angela Voight’s Areas of Interest
I work with resident physicians from M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospital, teaching as part of their orthopedic rotation. I enjoy passing on my knowledge to newer physicians, both in terms of patient care generally and in orthopedics specifically. I’m also honored to serve as a safe space for LGBTQ+ populations who need orthopedic care.
Dr. Angela Voight’s Sports and Sports Medicine Background
I enjoy seeing runners. I run myself, and I see a lot of runners in my practice. I understand how important running is to people, and I try to keep people running to the best of my ability by coming up with a plan with them. Some runners may worry that if they go in to see a doctor, the doctor will advise them to stop running. That’s not the answer most runners want, and I try to avoid that if at all possible. I work with patients — runners and nonrunners alike — to make a plan so they can keep doing what they love to do.
I run with a race team: TCRC, Twin Cities Running Company. I also cover a lot of race events and volunteer at a lot of different races as a physician. I’m proud to be the team doctor for the Minnesota Distance Elite. I played basketball and ran in college, and I played for the Minnesota Minx, the women’s tackle football team. After rupturing my Achilles tendon, though, I stick to noncontact sports now.
Dr. Angela Voight’s Outside Interests
When I’m not running, you might find me watching sports — I’m a big fan of all kinds of sports, and especially the Minnesota Lynx. I’m into collecting sports cards, so you might catch me at a trade show. Or you might find me at the State Fair, where I am very good at winning the largest prizes at the Midway games. I have brought home many, many large gorillas over the last 10 years.
