Eight Summit Physicians Honored As Top Doctors In 2016
Summit Orthopedics is proud that our medical community continues to honor our physicians by including them in the Mpls.St. Paul Magazine Top Doctors list. Congratulations to this year’s Summit Top Doctors: Dr. Beacom, Dr. Breien, Dr. Daly, Dr. Drogt, Dr. Ekstrom, Dr. Forseth, Dr. Gannon, and Dr. Salib.

Do you know whom your doctors would trust to provide their orthopedic care? Each year, Mpls.St. Paul Magazine invites thousands of Minnesota doctors and registered nurses to tell our community which experts they would go to for medical treatment. The providers they choose are honored as Top Doctors, and we are proud that members of our practice are regularly selected for inclusion in this highly regarded list.
We are also proud that the majority of the Summit physicians recognized this year have been selected as a Top Doctor for multiple years. They embody Summit’s commitment to improve and restore quality of life for each of our patients.
Dr. Amy Beacom
Dr. Beacom’s specialties include sports medicine, shoulder, ankle and foot, knee, running, and swimming. Her dedication to running and swimming orthopedic injuries is reflected in her service as a team physician for USA Swimming. She takes great pleasure in helping her patients maintain and reclaim a healthy, active life.
Dr. Kristoffer Breien
Dr. Breien’s specialties are hip, knee, sports medicine, joint preservation and restoration, complex revision knee and hip replacement, arthroscopic procedures, and fracture care. He focuses mainly on lower extremity injuries and issues, and loves to engage patients, answer their questions, and help them get back to the activities they love.
Dr. Peter Daly
Dr. Daly’s specialties include knee, shoulder, hip, sports medicine, and joint preservation and restoration. Because shoulder arthritis has prompted him to adjust his own activities, he brings personal perspective as well as medical expertise to his patients who are dealing with the same kinds of issues.
Dr. Jack Drogt
Dr. Drogt’s specialties include knee, hip, joint preservation and restoration, arthroscopy, and knee and hip arthritis. His expertise lies in knee and hip reconstruction. Dr. Drogt is attentive to each patient’s goals and works with them to address their expectations and help them meet their individual objectives.
Dr. Erik Ekstrom
Dr. Ekstrom’s specialties include back, neck, and spine care. He believes in listening to his patients and fostering a relationship that makes them feel comfortable sharing their questions and concerns. The most gratifying aspect of his work is identifying and resolving medical problems that keep patients from fully enjoying their lives.
Dr. Michael Forseth
Dr. Forseth’s specialties include hand, wrist, and elbow, complex reconstructive surgery of upper extremities, and microsurgery. In addition to serving our Twin Cities community, Dr. Forseth has volunteered his medical services in Haiti, Colombia, and Honduras.
Dr. James Gannon
Dr. Gannon’s specialties include knee, shoulder, sports medicine, joint preservation and restoration, and arthroscopy. He has practiced in St. Paul for more than 20 years; in some cases, he has cared for three generations of the families who place their trust in us.
Dr. Richard Salib
Dr. Salib’s specialties include back, neck, and spine care, adult reconstructive spine surgery, and spinal disc arthroplasty. He collaborates with his patients, reviewing their appropriate conservative and surgical options to create a personalized treatment plan that reflects the patient’s individual needs.
Congratulations to these physicians and their teams for providing consistently exceptional patient care. Our Top Doctors join every member of the Summit team in our commitment to treat your orthopedic issues and help you reclaim the lifestyle that brings you satisfaction and fulfillment.
