Summit Physicians Named Top Doctors in 2017
Summit Orthopedics congratulates its 2017 Top Doctors: Dr. Amy Beacom, Dr. Peter Daly, Dr. Jack Drogt, Dr. Erik Ekstrom, Dr. Michael Forseth, and Dr. James Gannon.
Choosing a skilled and compassionate orthopedic specialist to treat your bone or joint problem can make a measurable difference in the success of your medical outcome. No one is in a better position to evaluate physicians than their healthcare colleagues, and Summit is honored that again this year, our medical community has recognized numerous Summit specialists as Top Doctors that physicians personally trust to care for their families.
How Top Doctors are chosen
Each year, Mpls.St. Paul Magazine invites thousands of Minnesota doctors and registered nurses to tell our community which experts they would go to for medical treatment. The providers they choose are honored as Top Doctors. Summit is proud to have its physicians recognized on the Top Doctors list; many of them have been honored as Top Doctors for multiple consecutive years.
With their medical teams and colleagues, these physicians embody Summit’s commitment to provide every patient with the highest quality of orthopedic care.
Dr. Amy Beacom
Dr. Beacom’s specialties include sports medicine; treatment of the shoulder, ankle, foot, and knee; running and swimming. Her dedication to treating orthopedic injuries related to running and swimming is reflected in her service as a team physician for USA Swimming. She takes great pleasure in helping her patients maintain and reclaim a healthy, active life.
Dr. Peter Daly
Dr. Daly’s specialties include knee, shoulder, hip, sports medicine, and joint preservation and restoration. Because shoulder arthritis has prompted him to adjust his own activities, he brings personal perspective as well as medical expertise to his patients who are dealing with the same kinds of issues.
Dr. Jack Drogt
Dr. Drogt’s specialties include knee, hip, joint preservation and restoration, arthroscopy, and knee and hip arthritis. His expertise lies in knee and hip reconstruction. Dr. Drogt is attentive to each patient’s goals and works with them to address their expectations and help them meet their individual objectives.
Dr. Erik Ekstrom
Dr. Ekstrom’s specialties include back, neck, and spine care. He believes in listening to his patients and fostering a relationship that makes them feel comfortable sharing their questions and concerns. The most gratifying aspect of his work is identifying and resolving medical problems that keep patients from fully enjoying their lives.
Dr. Michael Forseth
Dr. Forseth’s specialties include hand, wrist, and elbow, complex reconstructive surgery of upper extremities, and microsurgery. In addition to serving our Twin Cities community, Dr. Forseth has volunteered his medical services in Haiti, Colombia, and Honduras.
Dr. James Gannon
Dr. Gannon’s specialties include knee, shoulder, sports medicine, joint preservation and restoration, and arthroscopy. He has practiced in St. Paul for more than 20 years; in some cases, he has cared for three generations of the families who place their trust in us.
Summit Orthopedics is proud that our medical community continues to honor the healthcare expertise provided by our organization and our physicians through annual inclusion in the Mpls.St. Paul Magazine Top Doctors list. It is our privilege to have these celebrated and respected physicians as members of our healthcare team.
“As a hip and knee specialist, an orthopedic surgeon, and the President of Summit Orthopedics, I’m dedicated to providing patients with the highest level of care available. Our expertise extends beyond orthopedic care. We’re enabling people to live the lives they love.”
