Same-Day Spine Care Appointments

All too often those struggling with nerve, back, or neck pain are told they have to wait four to six weeks to see a specialist or spine care surgeon. We are committed to seeing you for a same-day appointment at one of our convenient Minneapolis St. Paul spine clinic locations.

Back, Neck & Spine Care

If your neck or back hurts, life can be complicated. Tasks as routine as driving, reaching for a cooking pot or picking up your grandchild can make you wince. Favorite activities, like hiking or playing pickleball, may seem out of reach. At Summit Orthopedics, our team of back, neck and spine care experts helps our neighbors in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area rediscover life with less neck and back pain.

With one of the largest spine groups in Minnesota, Summit Orthopedics serves patients at nearly 30 locations across the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Our specialists provide comprehensive spine treatment. We take the time to understand your symptoms and make the most accurate diagnosis possible. Then, we’ll create a treatment plan that’s as unique as you, starting with nonsurgical options. If those aren’t successful, we offer the latest innovations in spine surgery, including minimally invasive procedures.

Get to Know Your Spine

The spine is your body’s ultimate support structure. Without it, you couldn’t walk, run, sit or stand. Home to the spinal cord (a strand of nerve tissue), your spine helps your brain and body communicate through nerve signals.

Your spine has five distinct regions:

  • Cervical (your neck)
  • Thoracic (middle back)
  • Lumbar (lower back)
  • Sacrum (a bone that connects the spine and hips)
  • Coccyx (tailbone)

The spine has hundreds of parts. These include vertebrae (spinal bones stacked in a column), cushion-like discs between the vertebrae, tiny joints, muscles and ligaments.

When part of the spine wears out or is injured, the nerves let you know in the form of back or neck pain or other symptoms. Specialized spine care can provide relief and improve your quality of life.

Conservative Spine Care — Helping You Avoid Surgery

Summit’s leading spine care specialists diagnose the full spectrum of back and neck problems and design custom neck and back treatment plans built on a non-surgical approach. We leverage conservative methods such as guided injections, specialized physical therapy, biofeedback, exercise, activity modification, and medication.

In the few cases where conservative care is no longer managing your symptoms, fellowship-trained spine surgeons are here to consult with you and discuss appropriate surgical options.

  • 87 percent of our spine patients are successfully treated with conservative therapies that do not involve surgery.

Understanding Spine Care Anatomy

Back pain is one of the most widespread health problems, affecting four out of five Americans in their lifetime. The spine is an interdependent system of 33 vertebrae, more than 100 joints, 120 muscles, 23 discs, and more than 220 ligaments. So when something goes wrong within that system, the hundreds of nerve fibers and countless nerve endings are quick to alert you.

Summit Quality Data

With a remarkable 99% patient satisfaction rate, we take immense pride in our achievements, yet we understand the dynamic nature of healthcare. We’ve diligently gathered post-surgery data for every patient, facilitating the assessment of patient progress, refining treatment strategies, and enhancing our overall proficiency. By sharing our data, we aim to empower patients, enabling them to make informed decisions and take charge of their healthcare journey.
